🚛 Haul Mapper — Privacy Policy

Haul Mapper is a truck-navigation and logbook app built for a small crew of drivers. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who it's shared with, where it's stored, and how you can delete it.

1. Information we collect

Account (Sign in with Apple)

You sign in with your Apple ID. We never see or store your Apple password. Apple gives us a stable, anonymous identifier for your account (used as your user ID in our system), and — only on your very first sign-in, and only if you choose to share it — your name and email address (which may be a private Apple-generated relay address if you choose "Hide My Email").

Location

• Foreground location is used to show your position on the map, plan truck-legal routes, and run turn-by-turn navigation while the app is open.
• Background ("Always") location is used only during Drive Mode, so your route keeps recording — and turn-by-turn keeps talking — with the screen locked. This is what lets the app log continuous, GPS-measured mileage per state for your logbook and IFTA fuel-tax mileage, and keep an accurate record of your on-duty driving time. The app shows an in-app explanation before iOS ever asks for this permission, and you can decline it — the app still works with foreground-only location, just without background tracking during Drive Mode.
• Crew presence is a separate, opt-in feature: if you turn it on, your live location is shared with the other drivers in your private crew (joining a crew requires a crew code) so they can see where you are. It is off by default and you can turn it off at any time.

Microphone / voice

If you use the voice dispatcher, your voice recording is sent to our server, which sends it to our speech-to-text and AI providers (below) to transcribe it and generate a response — for example, planning a route or logging a trip by voice. Audio is used only to answer that request; we do not use it for anything else.

Content you create in the app

We store the records you create so your logbook and history are available across your devices:

• Trips (route, miles driven, miles by state, revenue/pay figures you enter)
• Fuel purchases (state, gallons, price, receipt details you enter)
• Detention / dwell time records
• Hours-of-service duty status changes (a supplementary record — your ELD, if you have one, remains the legal record of hours)
• Voice and text notes you save
• Photos of documents you choose to scan (e.g. rate confirmations, bills of lading, fuel receipts) and the information read off them
• Your app settings and preferences (truck dimensions, home base, saved lanes, etc.)

2. How we use this information

Everything above is used solely to provide the app's features to you: routing and navigation, the AI dispatcher, your personal logbook and IFTA mileage report, settlement/pay checking, and (only if you opt in) sharing your location with your own private crew. We do not use your data to build an advertising profile, and we do not sell your data.

3. Who we share information with

We use a small number of service providers ("subprocessors") to run the app. Each one only receives the specific data it needs to do its job:

We do not use any advertising or third-party analytics/tracking SDKs, and none of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own advertising or cross-app tracking purposes.

4. Where your data is stored

Your account and logbook data is stored in Google Cloud (Firestore and Cloud Storage), in the us-central1 region.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account exists, so your logbook is available whenever you sign in. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from inside the app (Account → Delete Account). This immediately and permanently removes your trips, fuel records, detention records, duty logs, notes, document photos, and settings from our database and file storage. This action cannot be undone.

6. Your rights

You can access your data at any time inside the app (it's your logbook). You can delete your account and all associated data in-app at any time, as described above. If you'd like a copy of your data, or have any other request, contact us using the details below.

7. Children's privacy

Haul Mapper is a professional tool for commercial truck drivers and is not directed to, or intended for use by, children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify users in the app.
